SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS FOR 2017

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE MIDNIGHT APRIL 1ST

Scholarships - 2017

Step-By-Step process to apply to Memorial High School and St. Marys Community Foundation Scholarships.

  • This page lists scholarships for three different groups of students
    First, are the
scholarships available for St. Marys graduating seniors
    Second, are the
scholarships for current St. Marys grads attending college
    Third, are for several
scholarships open to students from area schools.
  • You must have an email address to proceed.
  • Review the qualifications for each scholarship carefully.
  • Select the first scholarship you wish to apply for. You will be directed to a webpage that will give information about that scholarship. Go to “Apply online.”
  • If you are a first time user, you will need to create an account and a password. This will allow you to return to this program at any time before the April 1 deadline to make additions or corrections. Be sure to write down your password and login information for future reference.  Return users from last year will use the same login and password as in the past.
  • At this point, you will be directed to the common application. You will only need to complete this application one time for all the scholarships you apply for. You can partially complete this and return and complete it later as time permits. Items with a red star (*) are required. You will not be able to submit your application until those items have been completed. A reminder that you will need to attach your transcript where indicated.
  • After you complete the application and section 11 for the individual scholarship, hit “submit” at the bottom. At this point, your common application is complete.
  • To apply for additional scholarships, go back to the SMCF webpage and “click” on the next scholarship.
  • You have the option to check “apply online” or “returning applicant.” Both will direct you to your login information.
  • You will be directed to your common application that has been completed. You will then go to “create new application” for each new scholarship you apply for.
  • Since this application has already been filled out, you will need to go to the bottom of each page and click “Next” to go to very bottom section of your application. This section (section 12) will have the information you need to complete for that individual scholarship you were applying for. When you complete that, hit “submit” to apply to that scholarship.
  • To apply for additional scholarships, repeat instructions numbers 8 through 11 above.
  • If you wish to review the scholarships you have submitted, go to www.scholarselect.com/my_applications and log in.  This will give you a display of the scholarships you have applied for and status for each as to whether they have been submitted or still incomplete. You may click on each one to finish it then submit.
  • Your email account will be sent an email each time you submit an application.
  • If you have additional questions, email them to smcf@bright.net
  • A reminder that applications for student educational loans for St. Marys and New Bremen students are also available on the SMCF website as well. The application process is the same as the scholarship application.  Use the same log in information.

Good luck – hopefully you will be the recipient of a financial award in the spring.

FOR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD RECIPIENTS

If you have been notified that you have received a scholarship from one of the funds administered by the St. Marys Community Foundation, Memorial High School or several of the other scholarship sources….CONGRATULATIONS! That is quite an honor and you and your family should be proud of your accomplishments.

Those who are selected for one of the many scholarships will be notified in several different ways. Seniors from Memorial High School will receive word at the awards program of your selection. Others will be notified by mail and will be invited to a program in July to receive your check. Students from other school districts will be notified by their home school.

Scholarship grants will be made payable to both the student recipient and the college listed on the application. If that college choice has changed, let the Foundation know of that change before the program event.

And one more important request…please send a Thank You note to the person or family that provided your scholarship. It is always appreciated and valued by them! Please send the note to the St. Marys Community Foundation address at 146 E. Spring St., St. Marys, OH 45885 or to the donor listed on your award letter. Most individuals who create a scholarship fund have no involvement with the selection process and have not read your application. They truly enjoy reading notes from recipients!
